Our Machines
We would be nothing and have got nowhere without the machines we use on this trek. For as much as we grumble about things when they break or go wrong, we get a lot of great service and long miles out of this equipment. Here are a few photos and descriptions about the vehicles that we are using to great effect to cross this great country. |
BMW F800GSA grey one and a white one. David Brock's 2010 grey machine is a veteran of TTT, going on everyone of the 6 so far. Carl's 2012 white machine was purchased after he cleaned up a Kangaroo on his orange one on TTT2
Suzuki DR650SEOur Mildura man Rob McNally has the big single cylinder Suzuki to carry him around. The 2013 road/trail bike has an aftermarket Safari 21 litre fuel tank giving it a range of around 400 kilometres.

BMW 800GS AdventureBrad Healy and Justin 'Joc' O'Conner ride 2014 red BMW bikes. Joc signed up himself and Brad for these bikes with Brad not knowing he was getting one until the dealer rang to tell him it had arrived!
Isuzu D-Max LS UteMaxie the white 2012 is on his third trek. At the completion of this one he will have clocked up over 25000 kilometres trekking. He can be grumpy in the morning sometimes, but regularly saves the day (e.g. TTT5). Go Max!

BMW 650 DakarSteve Larke rides a BMW 650 Dakar. This single-cylinder machine is branded after the famous Paris-Dakar cross country race.
Toyota TroopcarrierScott Hamilton joins us this year with his late 2011 Landcruiser Troopcarrier. Is a big machine powered by a big single-turbo V8, making the job if towing the Chuckwagon easy.
